Trading Terminology

Margin means money.

• It is the amount of money available in your trading account to place trades.
• In strategy tester, margin is virtual (fake) money used for practice.

Order is executed immediately at current market price.

Order is executed only at your chosen price or better.

A safety order to limit loss.

• Trade automatically closes when loss reaches your set level.

A target order to lock profits.

• Trade closes automatically when profit target is reached.

Live list of buy and sell orders currently in the market.

An active trade that is currently open.

Record of all past orders (open, closed, cancelled).

Trading cost charged per order.

• Even in strategy tester, fees help simulate real market conditions.

Shows how much you gained or lost on a trade.

• Can be Realized (closed trades) or Unrealized (open trades).

Allows trading with more money than your margin.

• Example: 10x leverage means ₹1,000 margin controls ₹10,000 trade.
